Chameleon Twist can aptly be described as a
"tonguetwister." Throughout the game, this chameleon,
whose name is Davey, uses his tongue for attacking,
moving and defense. You can perform many moves,
which all use its tongue, with the analog Control Stick.
For example, you can stick theenemy with your
tongue, swallow and spit them out, do a
"tonguestand,"or do a "tongue vault." At the end of
each level therewill a boss to battle. And speaking of
enemies, four of them in the gameare Scanari, Marble
Kid, Choco Kid and Hoppy.
There is a multi-player mode in Chameleon Twist, too.
The object of the mode is to push the others outside of
the battleground using your various tongue
techniques. There are two different ways to battle as
well: Battle Royale and TimeTrial. In the Battle Royale
mode, the winner is theone who is last standing in the
battleground. In the Time Trial mode, the winner is the
one who spent less time outside the ring.
Chameleon Twist is set to be released in Japan on
December 12, 1997. It's a 96 megabit game, which is
kind of surprising considering it's graphically
unimpressive. The game contains an internal EEPROM
chip for saving, too, so no Controller Pak will be
needed. However, the game does support theRumble
Pak, if you ever wondered what it would feel like to
be hit with a tongue. There is currently no U.S. release
planned. But since the concept is so unique, there is a
fairly good chance someone will release it in North
America -- that is,if the game is actually good.
