NEED FOR SPEED 2

No doubt when it comes car selection the people at EA are talented. They picked up the 6 fastest production cars in the world for their newest racer Need For Speed II. The original was one of the leaders of the revolution of racing games. But the second time round it seems to be lacking that fun factor that made the original such a hit.

The cars are the strongest point of the game. The cars EA assembled were the Ford GT90 which was the resurrection of the GT 40 this is a huge V 12 composed of two separate engines molded together to create a monster, the Italdesign Cala a V 10 400 horsepower all in a carbon fibre body, the Jaguar XJ 220 the second fastest production car in the world nuff said, the Lotus Esprit V 8 with incredible acceleration and control, the Isdera Commendatore 112 hand built special edition V 12, and the Mclaren F1 fastest production car to date top speed 231 mph ultra quick acceleration. Well as you can tell EA really did take care in the cars but that was about it.

The tracks were very poorly detailed and showed plenty of pop up graphics. Also they had many turns raises and drops to try and hide the pop up scenery.

I can say however the crashes were spectacular and looked like they belonged in a movie. But the crashes couldn't make up for all the other problems. So I'm being generous when I say rent it.
