DUKE NUKEM 3D

With Labotomy Software doing the conversion, there was never any danger of the Saturn version being anything less than perfect. Everyone who has played Exhumed thought the graphics were good right. Negative. Don't get me wrong but the graphics for Exhumed were incredible but Saturn Duke is ten times of that. You get all the original levels which were a masterpieces on the PC and some of them looks even better on the Saturn. The firstthing to grab your attention is the amazing level design. For two of the three chapters, the levels are set in real life places and they are as well detailed. For example, on the first level of the first episode, there is grafiti on walls and even in toilets. Duke Nukem 3D is the closest you'll ever get to virtual reality on the Sega Saturn. And by the way, this game is compatible with the Saturn anologue controller.

Multiplayer Via NetLink
Duke is a great single player game but the main reason in the game is the multiplayer option. ( Note : This only works if you have Saturn Netlink ) You can now get the chance to blast the guts out of a friend with the RPG, then fill him up with shotgun shells and shrink him down to the size of a rat and squash his tiny torsdo and you avoid the death sentence too. This along with Saturn Bomeberman is one of the best multiplayer games in the world.

Adult Contents
In the original game, there was an option that lets protective parents block out all the bad words and naughty scenes. What do I mean by adult contents ? There are bad languages, foul languages, porno cinemas, peep shows, and strippers who strip when offered cash. This game is definetly not for the kids. Unlike the original, the Saturn version doesn't appear to be any parental lock. But hey, who needs it any way? Right?!

Graphics : 9.0/10
The graphics are centerpiece of DN 3D and no conversion, with the possiblity of the upcoming Duke Nukem 64, will be able to touch what Labotomy has done on the Saturn redition. The lighting effects are wonderful as well. Imagine shooting a rocket through an alley, the alley will glow as the rocket slowly passes through. Neeedless to say the graphics are slpendid.

Gameplay : 9.8/10
Everthing in the PC original ended up in the Saturn conversion. You get all the weaponary, momsters and power ups. Add that to the enormous three episodes of the game and its going to take a hell out of a long time to finish. If you think that the game is too easy, then put it on " Damn I'm Good " and the challenge becomes vastly improved making you get tempted to finish the game one more time.

The sound is exactly like the PC original. Even though this is not a bad thing, it could have been improved.

Overall : 9.3 /10
Duke Nukem is always just as stunning as a one player game as it is in Death Match. This is one of the greatest hits the on the Saturn. This game is an essential buy for any Saturn owners because of its grpahics and replayable gameplay. If only you could play DeathMatch without the NetLink.
